Bide Awhile Animal Shelter

Working with Greenfield Hives & Honey, we have introduced our newest green initiative – a beehive to our shelter property. These bees will not only serve as a benefit the environment, they will also be greatly beneficial to the greenery and flowers in Trio’s Place Garden, a memorial garden where you can honour a loved one or pet.

Each fall, the honey that is produced through the hives is sold at the shelter as a fundrasier.

You can also support our Bide Awhile Bees by donating or purchasing the Bide Awhile Wildflower Mix at the shelter or on our website.

Hope for Wildlife

Hope for Wildlife Bees is a conservation initiative dedicated to protecting and supporting pollinators.  The program focuses on safe habitats for bees, helping to maintain biodiversity and healthy ecosystems. Through education and community engagement, it raises awareness about the vital role bees play in pollination and food production. The initiative also encourages sustainable practices that support pollinator-friendly environments in gardens, farms, and urban spaces.

Live Bee-Cam

The BeeCam offers a live, close-up view of an active honeybee colony in its natural hive. Viewers can watch as the bees build comb, store nectar, care for the brood, and maintain the hive’s intricate social structure. The camera captures the busy activity of worker bees, the queen, and developing larvae, providing a unique glimpse into hive life year-round. Educational and engaging, the BeeCam is perfect for students, hobbyists, and anyone curious about the fascinating world of bees. With high-quality streaming, it brings the hidden workings of a hive directly to your screen, fostering a deeper appreciation for pollinators and their essential role in our ecosystem.
